As collaboration between KULeuven and the University of Cagliari, Italy, Dr R. Corona has been in Leuven as a research fellow in endometriosis surgery and in adhesion formation. She is an established endoscopic surgeon, with a strong background in adhesion formation, as evident from her publications e.g. on the effect of Intercoat and of blood on adhesion formation and ongoing research on cultured mesothelial cells in the prevention of adhesions. In addition she has experience in clinical trials being actually involved in different clinical trials intended to confirm in women the decreased CO2 resorbtion and decreased pain and inflammation when 4% of oxygen has been added to the CO2 pneumoperitoneum as observed in rabbits.
